Making Beautiful Music

Well making noise anyway. Aunte Martha and Uncle Rafael sent Nolan a cool set of music instruments for Christmas. He loves them. His favorite is the tamborine/drum. He was very happy to play and then insisted that one of us accompany him with one of the other instruments. I liked the egg shakers myself.

You can also see how Christmas has exploded in our tiny apartment in the background. Mommy will try to get these toys sorted out during her week off of work. :)

Walking with Dinosaurs

Grandma and Grandpa Murphy got us tickets to go see Walking with Dinosaurs. Nolan had a great time (and only napped for a few minutes). Here are a couple pics and short video if you aren't familiar with the show.

CA Academy of Science

We went with Dana to the new CA Academy of Science. Very cool! We saw penguins and alligators, the aquarium and the rainforest. Nolan liked running up the circular ramps in the rainforest and he loved the butterflies. One of them landed on him as we waiting to catch the elevator down.

All tuckered out

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas here in Sunnyvale. We enjoyed going to Church on Christmas Eve with the Baldwins and celebrating with the Garcia family later in the evening. Christmas day we had an early start at our place followed by breakfast at the Murphy's and dinner at the Baldwin's. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and wish you the best in the new year.

Picture from the Sharks game

I took this picture last night, If you look behind the Vancouver goalie you can see the puck. The Sharks ahd just scored their 3rd goal.

Christmas in the Park

We took Nolan to Christmas in the Park before the Sharks game last night. He liked the big Community Giving Tree and the animated scenes with animals.

Finding his chomp

Nolan has been perfecting his chomp at Sharks games over the last couple of weeks. Usually it is a slow moving sideways shark. Last night it was a shark with only one jaw as he sould only get motivated to use one hand. Although you will see he did the chomp with his fingers - a baby shark if you will. Sorry one of them is on i's side- AGAIN!

Advent Calendar

We finally put the advent calendar up... I know, I know- It is very late. But hey it is up before Christmas so we are going to pretend that it was there since 12/1- OK. Nolan did enjoy putting the animals around the nativity and once he discovered that there were Velcro spots in the sky he wanted to put everything in the sky. He was also very interested in putting the wise men and the shepperd's in the manger - usually in Baby Jesus' bed- maybe to him they look sleepy. Here are some pictures- pretend that Nolan is wearing different clothes and that it took us 22 days to get the thing that full- rather than 22 minutes.

Actually now that I look at it one of the sheep has made him self comfy in the hay.

Christmas Lights

We have gone on two Christmas light viewing expeditions. One in Fremont with the Ashfields and one around Los Gatos with Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin and Uncle Todd. Here are some photos from both.

Little Helper

Nolan has discovered a love for putting gift tags on presents. Here are some videos of him helping mommy out.

More excitment then he can handle

A funny shot taken of Nolan as we left our visit with Santa. He fell asleep with the coloring book Santa had given him still clasped in his hands.

I love little animated Christmas critters that play music

Nolan loves those Christmas things you can get from Hallmark that play music and bounce around. On Thanksgiving Grandma brought out her snowmen from last year. The result was Nolan pressing, and presssing, and pressing the button to make it sing. His wonder continued on Sunday when Yukon Cornelius was placed under our tree and Nolan figured out where to push to make him sing "Silver and Gold".

Hitting the open road

A few weeks ago a friend of Grandma Baldwin's passed along a Radio Flyer tricycle to Nolan that her grandkids were done with. She took these pictures of Nolan's first encounter with a tricycle and passed them along.

King of the Killer Whales (and tigers too)

We were at Target over the long weekend (no surprise there) and Nolan found their plastic animals. He was quite taken with the killer whales and the white tigers. Jeff would put them away and he would pull them back out and pile them on the floor.

Yummy pie

Very cute and tasty Moose A. Moose and Zee pies. Nolan was very interested in the characters on the pies but was not fond of the pumpkin pie.

Happy Thanksgiving

Santa

We were at Eastridge this weekend and, on a whim, decided that we would meet Santa. Nolan was very happy to play in the line, looking at the reindeer and watching Rudolph. He would point to Santa when asked where he was, he waved to Santa, blew kisses and gave high fives, but when it came to sitting on Santa's lap Nolan decided he was firmly against it. Jeff sat down next to Santa in hopes that close proximity and daddy's seal of approval would convince Nolan, it did not. The result a picture of Nolan and Santa and Jeff.
